Does travel insurance cover ski passes?
We will not cover ski passes whether lost or stolen
Am I covered for the other snow activities?
Yes! The Adventure Sport option also covers: - Cross-country skiing - Ice Skating (Not speed skating) - Mono Skiing - Ski Boarding - Sledging - Snowshoeing - Snowmobiling (as a passenger only)
Am I covered if I crash into someone?
Yes. The Personal liability cover protects you if you accidentally injure someone or damage property while skiing – for example, if you collide with another skier.
Does the insurance cover my ski gear?
We’ll pay for loss, theft, or damage to your baggage – including your skis, snowboard, and personal equipment- during the insured period.
You’ll receive the current market value, accounting for wear and tear.(We may also choose to repair or replace your items)
What if my trip gets cancelled or delayed?
No, Trip cancellations due to bad weather are not covered.
Yes, Cancellations because of illness, injury, or death (of you, your travel companion, or close relative) are covered.
Yes, flight delays due to snow are covered.
What if I get hurt on the slopes?
Your ski pass usually covers the first rescue down the slope.After that, you’ll be taken to a hospital. Emergency medical costs are covered on a pay and claim basis subject to being notified to GIG and is authorized by GIG.
In case of large medical payments if required to be done, Gig may directly settle the claims with hospitals.

What does “Adventure Sport – Winter Sports Cover” include??
The Adventure Sport option covers you when you ski or snowboard outside marked trails, as long as the area is declared safe by the resort.
It also includes:
- First Aid & Rescue – We’ll pay the costs of official rescue teams (at sea or in covered mountain areas) who help save your life or protect you after an accident.
Can I go off-piste or do extreme skiing??
The Adventure Sport option would be required if you plan to do off-piste. It covers you when you ski or snowboard outside marked trails, if the area is declared safe by the resort.
Extreme skiing would not be covered.

Do I need special insurance for a ski trip??
Yes, it’s always best to be fully covered when going on a ski trip.Our Travel Smart package gives great protection.
If you’re skiing or snowboarding inside marked trails for fun, it’s already covered by Travel Smart with no extra cost.
That means normal skiing inside the resort area is not classed as Winter Sports and is included automatically.- For full coverage — including rescue and first aid — make sure to add the Adventure Sport option.
